I hit the 13th floor for cocktails and city lights—here’s my review!

What’s the Hype?

Hallaway KL, at Level 13, Wisma Trax, No.1, Jalan Lima, Chan Sow Lin, is a rooftop bar and foodhall open daily from 4 PM to 3 AM. It boasts a 180-degree KL view, cuisines like Korean and Japanese, and live music. With no minimum spend and a family-friendly vibe, it’s a chill escape from TREC’s high-energy clubs.

I visited on a Friday at 6 PM, skipping the crowd. No cover charge—a budget win!

Vibe & Atmosphere: 4.2/5

Hallaway’s rooftop is stunning—KL Tower and TRX glow in the distance, perfect for selfies. The mix of indoor food stalls and outdoor seats feels relaxed yet lively. It’s less glamorous than Marini’s on 57 but more vibrant than Tang Ping Bar. Crowds hit by 7 PM, and outdoor seats were scarce, so arrive early.

Music & Energy: 4/5

The live band played pop and rock covers, sparking sing-alongs. The vibe is fun but not dance-heavy like Zouk or Château Dc X. It’s great for chilling, less for a Party Girl KL craving club energy.

Food & Drinks: 3.8/5

Food stalls offer variety—Tasty Oppa’s Korean dishes and Pizza Okujo (RM25-35). My burger was tasty but small. The mojito (RM30) was refreshing but not as bold as Kyo’s cocktails. Service is self-serve, but staff cleared plates fast. Prices are fair for a rooftop.

The crowd—friends, families, professionals—is welcoming, unlike 404 Club’s exclusivity. Happy hours (5 PM-2 AM) keep drinks affordable, and the no-smoking indoor area is a plus. It’s not as wild as TREC but perfect for a laid-back night.

Hallaway’s foodhall vibe isn’t luxe, and crowds make it noisy. Outdoor seating needs early booking, and the view, while gorgeous, isn’t KLCC-level. Ventilation struggles on busy nights, and the band’s energy doesn’t match TREC’s clubs.
